Academic Growth

One of the most challenging courses I've taken was AP Language.  Going into that class, my writing skills were very mediocre and the countless in-class essays made it very difficult to keep up.  Despite being very demanding, it improved my writing skills immensely.

My academic interests include subjects dealing with Engineering, Math, Drafting & Design, Photography, and Environmental Sciences.  I sincerely enjoy these types of courses mainly because they are all activities I appreciate but I also anticipate earning some sort of degree combining some of these things.

One Class I would retake would be Environmental Science.  A lot of the complex and neat ideas embedded in the class flew over my head because I was so focused on maintaining a decent grade, so I would definently go back and discover lots of interesting things.

Goals

Short Term

I would like to earn more scholarship to help pay for college.  In order to do this, I must continue to excel in the classroom and maintain a high GPA.  I can also receive athletic scholarship for swimming through faster qualifying times.

Another short term goal is that I want to win a NCAA Swimming & Diving individual title during my time at Indiana University.  I can achieve this by always attending practice and giving each day of training my best effort.

Long Term

One of my most important long term goals is to graduate from Indiana University with a bachelors degree.  To earn that degree, I have to maintain a high GPA and complete a major.  I also need to complete a minimum of 120 semester hours of credit to graduate.

Down the road, I would like to purchase my own home.  To buy a house, I would need to save up the money to make a down payment.  All of that money would require a steady paying job and possibly a spouse to help split the cost.

Future Me

In the future, I see myself to be very successful at whatever I'm doing.  Swimming will has taught me the necessary skills to succeed in life and I can apply those to my future once I graduate from college.  I see myself starting a family and buying my first home with money earned from a job I thoroughly enjoy.  Once I have done all of those things, who knows where life will take me?

4 Year Reflection

I really enjoyed my time at Beaverton High School.  Being apart of the Swim Team helped me meet lots of new people and become a great leader for the underclassmen.  If I had to do something differently during my experience, I would try to reach out to my teachers more for help when I'm struggling with new material.  Some advice that I would give to incoming freshmen is to always be respectful to substitute teachers because they deserve it.  Also, stay on top of your assignments and homework so you don't fall behind, even if you miss class you can still check Canvas.

 Most importantly, HAVE FUN!
